So humorous story I thought would make people laugh as well as I just needed somewhere to write it down so I never forget it was that epic....I was in a gas station just minding my own business when this 50+ year old black man comes up to me, checks me out and says "You look good! I mean-Your boots are cute. I mean you're just beautiful!!!" and i was like "umm well thanks..." and he responded...."No thank you for sharing your beauty and allowing me to see it!" I just mumbled um thanks and walked away asap.  BUT!!! he was waiting by the door to kindly open it for me!! -_- Then he said, "I didn't mean to sound fresh I was just speaking the truth. You're beautiful." Although I was freaked out and practically ran to my car it still made my day! :) I am beautiful and I shouldn't have to be reminded by a 50+ black man to remember! :)

Nanny 911

So I've started my new job as a nanny in South Riding Virginia. It's so nice being back on the east coast. The family I'm nannying for is trouble at times. The kids CAN be great when they really want to be. Can being the key word. The first few days I was about ready to take those kids to SPAG union (all y'all diary of a wimpy kid fans know what I'm saying) but after the next few days being with them they have kind of toned down. We'll just have to see how the first week of school goes starting Monday. All I've got to say is those kids are going to be so tired! Haha

Summer

Ugh, summer cannot come soon enough! So I don't have to deal with people anymore.  I can just sit in France eating chocolate and cheese with no internet and I can just go MIA, find out who really cares about me, and find my inner self!!!! I've had a rough past couple of weeks, heart being broken, stressed about school other people, and future plans.  I'm so tired of school! Only a few more days of classes left and I'll be free! Free for the first time in over 10 months.  I can't wait for an extremely long break! But then again, I don't know if being up in Logan will be good for me from this recent turn of events.  I think I'll just have my mom leave me in New York and I can travel down to Maryland and stay there until we go to France then go back to Maryland.  Or maybe I can stay in Tennessee with Jacqueline until school starts next semester. Needless to say, I'm ready to be done with school but not ready to go to Logan, unsure about who I"ll run into during the next 4ish months.  Being haunted that I'll see the boy while at Maceys.  He'll be hanging out with all his friends, the new girl, and I'll be there with my sister, just buying ice cream and renting movies every night.  I can't wait to have a break from everything, I can't wait for summer.  New York and France can't come soon enough.  I can't wait. But I can wait for Logan.....

School :P blah

School is almost over and I could not be any happier! I will have been here for almost 11 months by the time we get out. Way too much school for a girl to handle! Well these past few weeks have been very fun! :) Tyson came to visit me :) I got to see some family members that I don't see very often at all! Tristan had a hockey tournament down here so I got to see part of the fam. I got to see HUNGER GAMES opening night at 12:01 AM!!! SOOOOOOOO FANTASTIC! :) I get to go to one of the conference sessions this weekend with some of my other awesome friends! :) I love my room, my suite mates, the weather, the gospel, school....but not so much....

Missionaries missionaries missionaries!!!! :)

One of my really awesome best friends, Hayden Datwyler, went into the MTC in November. He was supposed to go to Barcellona ASAP, but his visa just wasn't coming! So, for 3-4 months he was in Orem waiting for his visa. I sent him a letter a while ago, but just wasn't getting anything!!! I was really confused cause Hayden was my best friend through high school.  Turns out there is a rule where you can't write letters to girls that are in the same area as you. So, now he is on the way to Spain and I can talk to him again!!! YAY!!!! So, anywho, the 4 guys that got called to Utah this semester from my ward, may or may not be able to write any of the girls they met here in Provo.....I miss my big brother Hayden :(

A weird crazy week.....I would NEVER want to repeat.

This week/weekend has been so much fun as well as completely awful! Jacqueline and I have been hanging out almost every night/day. Just a few of the things we've done: Gone to Denny's at midnight, drive to Salt Lake for Mexican food at 1 in the morning (We got home at like 330) watched movies at all times of day and night, watched HOURS of Youtube videos (check out Glozell Super Bass lyrics So freaking hilarious) and just danced and sang all over the place!!! So much fun! But anyways, not only was this weekend really fun but it was really really really emotional and heartbreaking and just frustrating. And I NEVER want to have to go through that again. But I am so thankful for these girls, Jacqueline, Kristin, and Deb for being there for me. :)

Missionary Mail!!!

A few weeks ago, I sent a quick letter to my friend Mitch who is currently serving in Washington State, on an LDS mission. I met him this summer and we weren't super good friends but we friends....not like lets hang out all the time, but friends....ugh no matter how much I reiterate that to some people here they just make fun of me, but anyways....I sent him a letter. I didn't expect him to write me back, just cause we weren't really good friends....like I said before......but anywho, guess what came in the mail a few days ago!!! A HUGE LONG LETTER!!!! AND PICTURES!!!!! AHHHHH!!!!! So now, everyone is making fun of me and saying that we were ment to be and all that jazz! I didn't think he was going to send me anything and he sent me PICTURES, PICTURES PEOPLE PICTURES!!!!!! I was super, well am, super excited to have gotten them, but pictures....we weren't even that good of friends! :) But I guess moral of the story is, missionary letters are fun, even if you weren't expecting them and if it starts a WHOLE BUNCH OF GOSSIP IN YOUR WARD!!!! :-P yup....come on people....we're just friends..... :)

Archaeology! Woot Woot!

So, today I had the opportunity to help dig the old foundation of the old old tabernacle. :) I felt like a real archaeologist! I took buckets of dirt and poured them over screens in order to see if there were any buttons, nails, plaster, etc. still left in the dirt! It was soooo cool!!!! I mean I'm not even a archaeology major yet and I had the opportunity to help with a once in a lifetime church dig! There are only 3 other church history digs that have happened in the whole entire world!!!!!! I mean I'm sure they have uncovered some ancient nephite temples or whatnot, but a real pioneer history dig....there are only three in the whole world! AND I GOT TO HELP!!!! Even if it was only for an hour!!!!!   Here is some more information about the dig! Just click on the words information about the dig and it will take you there. Kinda cool eh? AHHHH and to add to the nerdy factor of this post, I got a provo library card today and it has a dinosaur on it. No big deal haha :)

High Five For Friday

So I missed friday, but I'm still going to do a Friday post! :)

1. I got to go home and watch Tristan play hockey for intermission at an Aggies Game.

Walking With Angels!

This last week Deb and I had a heart to heart over chips and salsa. She was talking to me about this interesting book she had read that talked about walking with angels. Her theory was if you see anyone that 1. Looks familiar to you 2. is a "beautiful" person (not really looks wise, but spirit wise) 3. You feel the need to talk to them. If you see these types of people you NEED TO TALK TO THEM! They have something for you that YOU need to learn.  An example she gave me was this girl in her Book Of Mormon Class. She met this girl in one of her classes, took one look at her, and thought to herself I need to meet this girl. Deb went on to tell me that this girl in class gave HUGE insight and just wonderful words of support, love, gospel learning, etc.  After the semester was over Deb saw the girl on campus and went up to talk to her. Deb then said that it just wasn't the same. That "angels" time was over. Deb knew that this girl could stay her friend but she didn't really have much to teach anymore. Angels in our lives come and go, but when you meet one, LISTEN! I want to try to meet some angels. Hopefully I can be brave enough to talk to them. I thought this was an interesting concept and want to see how it can affect my life. Deb is wonderful! :) Who are your angels?

 Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I hope you have a wonderful day with those you love.  I have never really particularly liked Valentine's Day, and just because I have a boyfriend does not mean I have to like it a lot, because I still am not a huge fan... and it doesn't help that the boyfriend can't come down for dinner or anything tonight!  But thanks to my wonderful suite mates and roommate, the spirit of  love is being felt all around our dorm today! :) <3

High Five For Friday!

So there is this blog I have read, The Small Things. The author had a very fun idea that she borrowed from another who probably got it from another blog, but you get the picture. Anyways, Its just every Friday you write the 5 best things (or worse) that have happend during the week! So.....here it goes! 

1) Café Rio Wednesday! Deb, Cassie, Erika, and I went to Café Rio for dinner! And, OH MY GOODNESS! It was so delicious! So much better than college food!  Delicious! :) Yum Yum :)

2) DEB! So my NEW roommate is pretty much the bom.com! She met this boy (might I add that he is an RM) on the 4th of February! And she has gone on 5 dates with him already :) So this week has just been really exciting with all her developments in this relationship!  (Oh and I got Shaye's boyfriend to take her on a REAL date! ) Love is in the air my friends! :)

3) I totally have a double front flip completely under my belt, thank you very much! :) 

4) I got to do some real archaeology stuff this week! (Another blog post coming)

5) I started the woman's study and will get paid this coming week! :)

Space Capsule!

People of Bikini Bottom....I mean....the world....I started this BYU study today. (and I get paid for it!) its a study where people monitor how much a female's BMI changes, is influenced etc. during college.  So, today I got to sit in this cool looking space capsule to get my body mass information! Using pressure, my BMI or something is calculated. I guess normally this type of test is expensive to get completed, but I get it FOR FREE!!!! (Insert Poor College Student Joke Here) Anyways, I felt super cool and clausterphobic, but we'll just glance over that aspect shall we? Then I had to take some survey thing that, in my opinion had nothing to do with health! Most of the questions were like, out of these two choices how would you act if you forgot your significant others birthday? Option A: I'm really busy and forgot to check when it was or, Option B: I was really busy. Another example, Your boss gave you management over a big task. Option A: I'm really self-centered and am the best for the job (Ok it didn't saya self centered but you get the picture) or Option B: I just did something similar really well! Either one you pick you look like a conceited jerk! And then you start thinking to yourself, oh no, which one do I pick to make myself look better, these people are judging me, do these questions hurt my results?!?!?! WHAT DO I PICK?!?!?! Very stressful, then you get to the part that's like record everything you ate in the past 24 hours! Um, lets see here, 20 million cookies and cream bars, etc. etc. (insert another poor college student joke here) (might I add that I have yet to gain the freshman 15 :) Loosing pounds on this girly!) Anyways, apparently I get am stronger than average girls (FTW!) For this next week, I have to wear an accelerometer, and let me tell you its one of the most uncomforable things on this planet and it doesn't help that my skin has been super dry and it keeps rubbing up against my skin. I can't take it off when I sleep! How am I going to sleep on my tummy with a huge brick attached to the front of me! But I have to wear it to get money. Oh well....  I guess that's life

Ice Ice Baby

Last night, some friends and I went ice skating for a little fun activity! It was so crowded, I guess thats what we get for going on a saturday night in a bigger town! They had to Zam the ice 3 times during the 2 hours we were there! That is absolutely a CRAZY amount of zambonie-ing haha. But anywho, I REALLY love skating! My hockey class is so much fun! I honestly am seriously considering joining a girls league, or just going a few more times a week than just my class. After we skated we went to Baskin Robbins! :) And I ate the most delicious 2 flavors of ice cream on the planet!  I of course got Peanut Butter and Chocolate for one scoop! But there was one that was the flavor of the month, and so I decided to get a little sample and oh my goodness it was amazing! The flavor is called Superfudge Truffle, and this is the description, "Indulge in our double chocolate fudge ice cream with soft chunks of chocolate ganache and toffee truffle pieces." IT WAS HEAVENLY!!!! SOOOOOO GOOD! Ah, I must resist temptation to get more, since it is just right across the block from me. And I have a frequent scooper card....Oh chocolate...you will be the downfall of me!!! :)

Best Weekend Ever

So this weekend was one of the best ever! I got to spend a whole bunch of time with my family as well as Tyson. :) And I moved rooms! :) On Friday, I ventured up to Logan to spend the evening with Tyson. We went to Mo Bettah Steak and ate a BUNCH of food!!!! It was so delicious! Especially since I haven't eaten meat in a long time because I am afraid of the cannon center!  Anyways, it was sooo delicious! It's like Pounders and Rumbi Grill combined! After we went to Mo Bettah we journeyed our way up to Maple Grove Hot Springs to meet Mauricio and Estella. On the way up, I was running very low on gas, and Tyson had to scold me for not trusting him with the gasoline level. I had a whole bunch of flashbacks of my dad running out of gas and all that good stuff, so no matter what he said I was still pretty worried. We made it back to Preston though, but, it was still stressful haha! Since I am 18 I bought a lottery card just cause I could! I actually won 2 dollars! Then Tyson used that 2 dollars to get me another one and I lost. :( Oh well! It was still fun, and I can check off one of my 18 lists :) We then watched Real Steel at my house and didn't go to bed until very late! Then on Saturday, my family, Doré and Novalie, Grandma,Tyson and I went bowling. It was so much fun to all be together! We went back home for cake and gifts since it was my cute little Jack's birthday! :) He is so adorable! Over the whole weekend he was always saying, "I love you Julia! And miss you at college!" He was also so adorable towards Tyson! :) He would say "I love you Tyson, thanks for my own snowboard! Please stay a very long time!" :) What a cutie face! We also watched a really good movie that night called Courageous.  I would highly recommend it to anyone! Its about some cops and the importance of fathers. *Disclaimer* you will cry! On Sunday I went to one of my really good friends farewells! His talk was so good! He will be a great missionary! Then I went to Tyson's house for his birthday! I love being over there! His family is so nice and just so welcoming! I love hanging out over there! Anyways, its the boyfriends birthday today! So shout out to Tyson, Happy Birthday! :)    

New Room!!

Its official!! I'm moving to another room across the hall!! Its going to be very awkward telling the current roommate that I'm going but she will get over it! I am so exited to not be stressed out of my mind with that girl! :) I also get to go home this weekend! :) yay! Its Jack and Tyson's birthday!!! and I cannot wait to see them! :) Ah! :) its been a long time consuming week, but its almost over! AND I'M MOVING!!!!!!! so happy :) haha
