Fear

Last night I had to face a huge fear of mine.....a Haunted Corn Maze! I know this sounds stupid coming from an 18 year old who has never been to one in her life, but its true. A few times when I was younger like 2 or 3, my dad or some of his friends would come over but they would put masks on to scare my mom and I.  Well, little did he know that that incident would haunt me for life! This little mask episode led me to have nightmares about clowns for the first 6-7 years of my life. I couldn't be near mascots without punching them in the face.  Chuck-E-Cheese scared the crap out of me! My mom had to walk me on the other side of the mall so I wouldn't see the clown.  Finally one day though, I faced that fear, and went and talked to the clown.  I decided I wasn't going to be scared anymore! I got over that sort of thing! I mean I watch scary movies all the time, murder TV shows, read crazy messed up freaky books and I have no problem, but throw me in a corn maze....you better watch out....
I already have a problem with corn mazes right off the bat. I get so claustrophobic in those things.  I don't know why people think they are fun, because I just want to get out.  I don't like not being able to know where I need to go, and with the corn enclosing around me, suffocating any hope of escape, I have a very hard time having "fun" in them.  Last night was my worst nightmare. Masks and mazes combined.  The very first man we saw just jumped out at us, and I thought hey this won't be too bad. But then came the Ring Wrath (Pardon the Lord of The Rings reference but, that's what he looked like.) with a chain saw that chased me....I was not a happy camper but I did laugh hysterically, because it was a little funny to see everyone else's reactions. I did NOT want to keep going! I wanted to turn around and walk right back out of this horror! But OH NO! we HAD to keep going! So we kept walking. I refused to be in the front and the back! Cause I mean in the front you have be the first one to see the people, in the back, they could creep up from behind and scare you even more! One of them did that to me and I yelped! We were walking through this little black box thing, and this guy popped out and scared us. Well we kept walking thinking that he would go away, but he didn't so I turned around when we were deciding which way to go and he was right there, staring at me. So, we ran. Another instance were that happened was with a CLOWN!!! (Little rant! Why are clowns supposed to be funny? Even normal clowns are scary looking! I think whoever made the clown thing up just wanted the whole world to be unstable when they saw a clown...anyways) this clown popped out and scared us! We were all screaming cause I mean its an evil clown. So we ran, then we had to stop because there was a box up ahead and we knew that something would be in there (surprisingly there wasn't anything)  So as we were hesitating the clown took the time to sneak up on us....Elise and Tanner turned around and screamed so loud! It was so scary!!! Ahhh clowns go away! I think what makes it worse when these people scare you is that they just stand there watching you and will walk behind you making no noise.  As you walk away you can look back and they just are there, silent, ever watching. Its so creepy. Ugh anyways, during the first part of the maze I was a wreck. I couldn't feel my hands because I was holding on to my sweatshirt very very very tightly! I was breathing like I had run a marathon! If anyone touched me I almost punched them in the face! It was so great! But by the end I had relaxed enough to feel my hands and to not punch people in the face! :) I walked out of that corn maze feeling like a million bucks! I had done it! I had made it through a haunted corn maze without peeing my pants or killing anyone! :) It was pretty fun! But given my opinion I'd rather just watch a scary movie or read a scary book....no masks...and definitely NO CORN!!!!!!
