Parent Appreciation

Ok so, this weekend was really hard for me! My roommates mom came to visit for parents weekend! This was a challenge because my roommate treated her mom like crap! I mean her mom is working 3 jobs just so she could get enough money to come out, and my roommate didn't even giver her a hug! She didn't want to spend anytime with her and even told her to her face that she didn't want her here.  Her mom is still working her butt off so Jen can come home for Thanksgiving.  This makes me so angry! I mean honestly! Cut your mom some slack! She cares about you, she might not be the best mom in the world but she cares! My roommate has been going out with her boyfriend for over 2 years and her mom has known about it the whole time.  When her mom got the dorm she looked at Jen and said I know you had pictures up of Kyle all over the place. And Jen just sat there like whatever mom, she looked at me and with her facial expression was like Julia you better back me up on this or I'll hate you the rest of the semester.  So I said she really didn't have any up.  Jen texted me two seconds later saying thanks for backing me up. And I just said she isn't stupid like you think she is. And Jen just said, whatever. Another thing that bothered me so badly is that when Jens mom would talk to her, Jen would practically yell at her or she wouldn't talk at all! Jen would just sit there like the world was over snapping at her mom whenever she asked something.  Her mom suggested that they go see her grandparents. When Jen came back to the dorm she started complaining about how much her grandpa bothered her! I was so sick of he always doing this so I looked at her, and said, "You know what?! My grandpa drived me crazy sometimes, but he passed away this last year! I don't want to hear you complaining about your grandparents anymore, because you are going to miss them like crazy! Just stop." She just sat there like "Oh my gosh I can't believe she just said that to me!" She is throwing away her family! Does she want to go on with her life getting through everything without the suport of her family? Her parents love her so much and she doesn't even care! Geez! Her parents call her all the time just to talk! My parents live 2 hours away, but I hardly ever hear from them! I wanted my mom to see me for parents weekend, but she and my dad went out of town.  Her attitude toward her parents makes me so sad! I hope I never treated my mom and dad as bad as she does.  Its completely ridiculous! I love my parents! I'm sorry if I was ever a brat at times. Parents deserve a whole lot better than bratty kids who don't care about them at all when they would do anything for them to be happy, and would do anything to go see them! Ugh, I was very annoyed this whole weekend. It was very sad! I love you mom, dad, grandma and grandpa!
